Editorial Traineeship
During an 18-24 month editorial traineeship we offer you the combination of training on the job and a comprehensive educational programme. While training within a specialised publishing operation, you will become an expert on our target groups. In the editorial office of a publishing house you will get to know a range of working styles and technologies. Depending on the publishing house, you will be dealing with scientific content or specialised areas within the transport sector. The tasks of an editorial trainee include editing and proofreading, process coordination and product costing. Editorial trainees carry out research and perform editing work both for print and electronic media. Organisation and deadline planning play a key role in these activities. Rounding off the programme are external seminars and periods spent observing operations in a printing works, a marketing department, production and sales departments as well as in the editorial office of another publishing house. Essential features in the editorial traineeship programme are writing workshops, external seminars, attendance at target group events and special projects. The high quality of the programme is guaranteed by the management of the traineeship through the personnel department and a mentor within the editorial department. College/university degree Preferably a degree course relevant to a target group of the publishing house (e.g. economics, medicine, law, mechanical engineering, also the humanities) You have gained initial experience in the editorial field Strong organising skills, interest in the target group (e.g. in the transport sector) Confident, convincing presence Interest in electronic media Strong communication skills Strong teamwork skills
